Adventure Sports HQ began in July 2003 under the name War Games Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. War Games was one of the first outdoor laser skirmish / laser tag combat fields in the United States.
Founder Derek Petit started off with equipment purchased from an Australian Laser Skirmish manufacturer. After using the equipment for a year Derek became increasingly frustrated with the Australian Laser Skirmish manufacturer. He felt there was a severe lack of support for his growing business, and also believed the quality of his Laser Skirmish equipment suffered as a result of the manufacturers cost cutting measures during the manufacturing process. Derek also had a rough time running his business and having to deal with the long customs process and extremely high cost of shipping parts and units back and forth from Australia.
Realizing that there was a strong need for an American based manufacturer of Laser Skirmish equipment Derek, had only one alternative, develop his own equipment and Adventure Sports HQ laser tag / laser skirmish was born!
